CALL FOR NOMINEES

About the Award
The MITSS HOPE Award was established in 2008 to recognize people -- patients, families, healthcare providers, hospitals (or teams or departments therein), academic institutions, community health centers, grass roots organizations, EAP programs, etc. – who exemplify the mission of MITSS: Supporting Healing and Restoring Hope to patients, families, and clinicians impacted by adverse medical events.
MITSS achieves its mission through:
- Creating awareness and educating about the emotional impact of adverse medical events on patients, families, and clinicians;
- Providing direct support services to anyone affected by adverse events; and,
- Advocating for healthcare organizations to develop formal support systems and provide resources for their patients and staff in cases of adverse events.
An independent, multi-disciplinary Selection Committee will review the nominations to ensure that each submission clearly demonstrates a direct link and alignment with the MITSS mission.
The winner receives a $5,000 monetary prize to assist in continuing their work.
Award Eligibility Criteria:
- This is a national award, and nominations from anywhere in the United States are encouraged.
- Recipient must arrange to be present at the MITSS 8th Annual Dinner to accept the Award.
- Self-nominations will be allowed.
