PLEASE JOIN US FOR OUR MILESTONE EVENT!
Medically Induced Trauma Support Services (MITSS) is a non-profit organization whose mission is To Support Healing and Restore Hope to patients, families, and clinicians whose lives have been impacted by medical errors and adverse medical events. We are a local, national, and international force advocating for emotional support for all involved in these unfortunate circumstances.
Our 10th Annual Dinner is a milestone event—a testament to our relevance, growth, sustainability, and progress during a most dynamic time in healthcare. We have enriched the patient safety and quality movement by developing innovative programs, educating about the emotional impact on all involved following adverse medical events, and advocating for healthcare organizations to support their frontline staff. During this past year, MITSS released a Tool Kit for Clinician Support. This Tool Kit has been widely disseminated and has already been accessed by over 2,000 organizations across the country and around the globe. We continue to provide direct support to patients and their families with groups, one on one counseling, telephone assistance, and referrals to our vast network of resources.
For 10 years, MITSS has been a strong and unwavering voice calling for a more compassionate healthcare system—one in which we all care for and support each other when things go wrong.
Now, more than ever, we need your support. Help us to ensure that we continue along our groundbreaking path by sponsoring and attending the 10th Annual Dinner and Fundraiser. Join the more than 400 healthcare executives, leaders in the insurance industry, professional organizations, major law firms, frontline staff, patient advocacy groups, as well as patients and families in supporting our work.
We are pleased and proud to announce that Dr. Nancy Snyderman, NBC’s Chief Medical Editor, will provide this year’s Keynote. Opening remarks will be made by Sandra Coletta, President and CEO of Kent Hospital in Rhode Island. An advocate for patient safety, Mrs. Coletta has been acknowledged for the settlement of a major public lawsuit brought by the actor James Woods on behalf of his brother Michael Woods, which resulted in the establishment of the Michael J. Woods Institute at Kent.
And, don’t miss the highly anticipated announcement of the winner of the Fourth Annual MITSS HOPE Award. It promises to be an extraordinary evening!
